Adult Truths

I borrowed this from my dad.... pretty funny!! Enjoy!

ADULT TRUTHS
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your
computer history if you die.
2. Nothing stinks more than that moment during an argument when you realize
you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was
younger.
4. There is a great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How in the world are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I
know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person
died.
9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when
you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of
the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't
want to have to restart my collection....again.
13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I
want to save any changes to my 10-page technical report that I swear I did not
make any changes to.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to
answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer definitely deserves a light as well.
16. This came after a lot of thought. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would
bet on any given Friday or Saturday nightmore kisses begin with Miller Lite
than with Kay.
17. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.
18. How many times is it appropriate to say, "What?" before you just nod and
smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?
19.   I love the sense of comeraderie when an entire line of cars team up to
prevent a jerk from cuttin in at the front of the line. STAY STRONG, brothers
and sisters!
20. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in
a pocket, finding their cell phone and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey.... but
I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away in about
1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
21. People who forward e-mail without deleting the tons of previous recipients
should be shot and then tarred and feathered.
22. The first testicular guard, the "cup", was used in hockey in 1874 and the
first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to
realize that their brain is also important.

Not sure where that originally came from - but it made me laugh!!
Happy Thursday! Almost weekend time!

Green around the gills

I have had a rough two days.
I'm blogging from the couch in my pjs right now.
Yesterday around noon I started feeling kind of queasy. (Granted I'm a child counselor, and there is no way I can see clients if I'm throwing up!)
I left work, headed home, and laid down.
I started throwing up at 3, and didn't stop until about 6.
I hugged the toilet off and on all afternoon.

I called my husband, and my mom. I'm a weeny.
My mom got over to the house and checked to see if I had a fever. Yep - 101.9
She took me to one of those after hours, no wait clinics. My blood pressure was up, and my fever had dropped to 101.
The Dr. immediately gave me a magic little pill called Zofran. Amazing!! I stopped feeling like I was going to puke my guts up and die queasy almost immediately.
She did a flu test by sticking a swab-thing up my nose. I had to hold really still - ok hard to do when you're tickling my brain with a q-tip!!
No flu!! She determined it was a virus and wrote me a RX for the magic little Zofran pill.
I'm feeling better today. I snacked on Ritz crackers and Sprite all day long. I was brave and ate some chicken noodle soup (thanks mom!) for dinner.
My poor husband - I made him sleep on the couch last night - I don't want him to get sick. He's SO funny.... before going to sleep on the couch last night, he said "Can you at least cuss at me or something before sending me to spend the night on the couch by myself?" Poor guy.

I'm sitting here wondering what the heck I'm going to do when I get pregnant. I hate being sick like this.... and I'm such a weeny!

Holy Week

Holy week.... what an awesome week. I love Easter.
I teach 4 year olds in Sunday school and yesterday I emphasized why Easter is important, not because of candy, or the Easter bunny - but because we have an awesome God who is almighty and all-powerful - crucified, buried, and most importantly - He is risen. I serve a risen, live God.

As we enter in this wonderful week, check out the Desiring God blog may you be challenged as I am to focus on the Holiness of this week and coming Sunday.

My birthday

I had such a WONDERFUL birthday this year!!
Clint woke me up with my favorite donuts served in bed =) He is TOO sweet!
Then, I got a text from a friend telling me to check my mailbox before I left for work - she and her husband live right across the street from us and have become very good friends of ours. They left a birthday card and a Maurices gift card for me!! Love that!!
Dad sent these to my office...

Aren't they beautiful?!? My favorite flowers!!

I had a very busy day at work... my coworkers took me to one of my favorite resturants! I got home, and Clint had grilled steak, cooked baked potatoes, and had a glass of wine poured for me. AND, he had vacuumed and straightened up the house!! I'm a LUCKY gal!

Friday, my boss made me a confetti cake with strawberry creme cheese icing - YUMMY!
Friday night, Clint, my parents and a big group of friends all went to Kyoto to celebrate! What a blast!

Here's my cake my momma made me! It has a picture of Stevie & Cadence in the middle. (Side note - since I was little, she has decorated my cakes for me with whatever is going on in my life at the time. She is so special to me!!)

Clint lighting the last of the candles.

Me and my sweet friend Tiff

Me and Jeremy & Kendall

Me and the Zator family

Me and my mom & dad

Here's an up close shot of the cake - isn't it cool???

My mom had a blast with sweet baby Tinley Kay. (Tiff's baby girl). I think my mom is ready for a grandbaby!!

To end the night, Clint, me, Jeremy & Kendall went to MiCocina in Rockwall.
I had a Mombo Taxi -- YUMMO!!
It was such a great celebration!! I got 2 Maurices gift cards, so I'll do a post about the cute stuff I bought!! Yes, I went shopping today! And, my mom and dad got me a 410 Shotgun! I'm SO excited!! =)

I'm a little late on this one.... but here's what I'm loving this Wednesday!

I'm loving that tomorrow is MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! =) I love love love birthdays.... not because of gifts, but because I'm blessed to have another year to spend with my loved ones, and because I usually get to spend time with my friends and family!!
I'm working tomorrow, so I'm not really planning on doing anything for my actual birthDAY. But, Friday night I'm going to Kyoto with my family and a big group of friends including Tiffany & Kendall.
Pictures to come!!

I'm linking up with Taylor for Top 2 Tuesday!

Today's topic for Top 2 Tuesday... Favorite drinks

[via]                               [via]
1. Dr. Pepper (especially a large Dr. Pepper from Sonic) mmmmmmmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about that sweet beverage!! I limit myself to 2 a day - sad I know. Well, in all honesty, when I say 2 a day my rules are as follows:
I only keep caffeine free DP and cokes at home, I have one caffeine free DP in the a.m. on my way to work.
A DP at lunch doesn't count. Why? No clue, but in my rules, that's how it works.
And, I usually have another caffeine free DP when I get home. I'm a little obsessed.

2. Frozen margarita from On the Border, no salt.
Need I say more? No.. these are just SO good. Especially with some chips and queso. Ok, more drool.

Link up and let us know what your favorite drinks are!

Cute outfit and chocolate mishap

This is one of my favorite outfits....
I think it's cute.. plus it's really comfy. Anyhow, I wore this to work today. My coworkers and I went to lunch at Chilis, and apparently, I sat in chocolate!!!

My coworker stopped me and told me that I had chocolate on me, so I peeled off the huge glob that was stuck to my pants. NICE.
This picture of my bootay doesn't do it justice, but I had a chocolate stain on my cute bootie all afternoon. I totally forgot about it and went to Wal-Mart too!! =) Oh well!!
Happy Monday! I survived!!

Rock & Worship Road Show

Saturday Clint took me to an early dinner at On The Border (one of my favorite resturants) and then we headed over to the Rock & Worship Road show at the American Airlines Center. Tickets were only $10!!
Me and Clint before we left the house

We got there at 3:30... the doors opened at 4:30, so we had GREAT seats!

Clint is super excited!

Waiting on the concert to start!

T-shirt =)

MercyMe guys! They always put on an amazing concert!! We also saw The Afters, Jeff Johnson, Natalie Grant & Brandon Heath. It was a fun night. Thanks babe for the early birthday present!

One thing that Bart Milliard from MercyMe said was that the concert was to worship our Holy God. Anyone can put on a concert... his hope was that everyone left changed. MercyMe sponsors several children through Compassion International. Clint and I are now sponsoring a precious girl who is only 7 years old. She lives in Africa in a home constructed of dirt floors, mud brick walls and tin roofs. She lives in an AIDS-affected area and will now have new opportunities to learn and grown physically, mentally and most importantly spiritually. She will be hearing the Good news of Christ. If you are interested in learning more about Compassion International, visit their website here.

Weekend review

I didn't taken ANY pictures.... but this weekend was a productive one!
Friday night, we ate at our friends' house on their beautiful new patio! Check out her blog at Our Neu Life
Saturday, I took Sam to the vet for his annual exam and vaccines.
Isn't he CUTE? He was not too happy with me for the rest of the day!
Clint and I went to Lowes and bought some mulch, weed & feed, a few plants, and potting soil - so our house has a much needed face lift.
Saturday night, we watched our boys play a great game (from the comfort of our friend's couch).
Sunday, we went to church and Clint went to the shooting range with my dad.
It was a great weekend.

I'm excited about this coming Saturday......

My birthday is April 14th, so I told Clint that I REALLY want to go to this show to celebrate!!!

Tanning Up

FYI I am opposed to tanning beds. The threat of skin cancer is just too high.
However, I'm also opposed to having white, pasty skin now that the weather is SO beautiful here! I am ready to start breaking out my cute little shirts on the weekends... but my skin is about as white as a ghost right now.
Also, my wonderful parents are taking us on a little vacation to Fort Walton Beach Florida at the end of May, so I need to be bronzed and ready!!
Can you say BEAUTIFUL??? And this isn't a picture from a website, it's a picture I took while standing on the amazing beach. I can't WAIT!!
So.. with that being said, I bought two new products while at Wal-Mart yesterday evening:

[via]
1. Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer

This smells great! It doesn't have that stinky after-smell of most self-tanners. Plus, it says "color in just one day" I'll keep you posted on this little beauty!

[via]
2. Loreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist

I literally just sprayed this on. It sprayed SO EASILY!! It came out nice and smooth, and covered really well! I am picking up a little bit of that "tanning lotion" scent on me now that it's been on for about 10 minutes. But, it's really not that bad. It says on the bottle to use daily until you reach the desired tan level, then to use 1-2 times a week to maintain the tan.

More reviews of these two products to come as I continue to use them!
