SCORE!! I can't wait to debut these outfits. I got a few other things... but mostly shirts to layer these with. I am a total layer-er. I have a whole drawer full of camis =)

(Inside info... a few months ago, I decided to buy some new cute clothes. I was having that feeling of "ick" about all my stuff, and felt like I didn't really dress as cute as I could.) Now that I'm seeing clients and working at the junior college, I try to buy stuff that can work as casual or dressy.

Another store I'm crazy about is Papaya.... I've only been there once, but it was AMAZING. I need to go back soon!!

I caught a student cheating on the exam I gave in class today!!!! You have no idea how M-A-D I was (and still am!)

I separated the students (this kid was cheating off of his girlfriend's test) and then asked them about it after class. The boy vehemently denied cheating... and the girl just started crying. What really made it bad was that I donated $20 to this student's band fundraiser two weeks ago!!

I kept him after class and spoke with his athletics coach... who said he will pay for it in track practice. I asked that he add some on for me please. Anyhow... I was not a happy camper this morning.

Word of advice? Don't cheat in my class!!!!! Or if you do, be creative, and don't get caught!! LOL!

I had a lunch date with my daddy today. I don't think I'll ever outgrow those!

We ate at CB's Hamburgers - our favorite hamburger shop in the area! It's downtown, in a little building and they have the BEST hamburgers!

YUM!!! I really enjoyed getting to spend a quick lunch with him. If you read my last post, he was in Japan during the earthquake. I'm so glad he's home safe... I know his heart is sad for the people in Japan.

Bounce House and Baby Girl

I had a wonderful weekend!

Saturday, Clint and I went to our nephew's 6th birthday party. We got him a skateboard... it seemed to be a big hit!

Then, Clint got in the bounce house with the kiddos.

These kids LOVE their Uncle Clint!!

Clint got some pretty good air and the kids had a lot of fun!

And... I got to spend some time with this little baby girl - my niece Amaya

 

Isn't she CUTE??? Really really makes me want one more than I already do!!

Here she is a little unhappy.... I'm trying out the Baby Whisperer techniques... she calmed pretty quickly.

On a different note... my dad is home safely!! Praise the LORD!!!

 He was in Japan on a business trip when the earthquake and tsunami hit!! There were about 12 hours where we didn't know if he was ok or not. Thank you to everyone who prayed for his safe return. I'm sure he has a lot of crazy stories. His heart is aching for the Japanese people. Please continue to pray for them.

Fitness Friday

For some reason... this never posted! So it's a few days late!! :)

Today I'm Linking up with Lindsey at the Bargain Blonde for Fitness Friday.

The Fellowship at First Baptist Church [see here] has an amazing ministry called Faith in Training (FIT). For only $15 a month, women can attend as many fitness classes as they want. The class schedule is:

Monday a.m./p.m. Cardio & weights

Tuesday a.m./p.m. Step

Thursday a.m./p.m. Various workout program videos

Seriously... what a great bargain!! I go to the Tuesday evening class. I LOVE this class!! It's taught by a friend of mine who works at 24 Hr. Fitness. She is amazing!! I always leave feeling like I've had a great workout!

I'm not on a weight loss regimen, just a get into shape plan. I enjoy my one hour workout and the instructor ends the class with a devotional and prayer time.

The Good, the Bad and the Lazy

Ahhhhh daylight savings time. I hate you but I love you. I'm really REALLY dreading waking up an hour early this Sunday. But, I'm looking forward to extra daylight when I get home from work. I am usually at my office until at least 6 p.m. so it will be nice to have some extra time when I get home from work!

One thing you should know about me.... I L-O-V-E sleep!! My favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?? Take a long nap on the couch. And by long, I mean at least 2-4 hours!! I know...I know! Lazy Lauren right?!?! Sunday after church is usually the only time I do this long nap (or any nap) thing. Unless I can squeeze one in on a Saturday.

I rationalize this one-day-a-week laziness like this: "One day, I'll have kids, and I won't be able to take time for myself and nap. So, while I can do it, I mine as well stock up on nap time." You know what? That rationalization works JUST FINE for me! Call me lazy if you want, but I don't care! Gotta love the nap time!! Oh... next week is Spring Break... which means no teaching at the junior college... so I get to sleep in!

Busy as a....

I feel like I've been SO busy lately. I used to spend my time during the day teaching at the junior college and then at my office preparing case notes and files.

Now that I have my internship license, I'm seeing clients a few hours a day - what a difference those few hours make!! I got to the office at 9:30 today... saw 2 clients and looked at my clock and it was 1 p.m.!!

Makes for a fast and busy day!

Not the best grades ever...

So.... I gave my first exam in my Introduction to Psychology class. I am kinda dissapointed!! I gave the students a VERY thorough review, and let them have 10 minutes with their textbook to find answers they didn't know.

I'm feeling pretty bad about this test!! Wondering if I made it too hard?
