Bed Rest

Bed rest officially started today! Yesterday was my last day of work until after Ryan arrives.
I had a doctor's appointment Tuesday morning, January 3rd.  I was already put on modified bed rest, and was planning to wrap up work on January 12th.  God had something different in mind for me and baby Ryan.
At the doctor's office, my blood pressure was 155/95.  140/90 is the highest that my doctor is OK with.  I was asked to lay down on my left side and relax.  I started crying.... I knew that my blood pressure being up was out of my control, but I wished that I could just do something to fix it.
The nurse came back in and took my blood pressure about 10 minutes later.  It had dropped significantly, to around 125/85.
My doctor came in, and informed me that I needed to discontinue work and stay home in bed as soon as possible.  I'm a licensed professional counselor-intern working with children at a local Children's Advocacy Center.  I needed to close out with all of my clients, so I decided Thursday the 5th would be my last day of work.  My doctor approved, and sent me for a non-stress test to monitor Ryan's heart rate and movement.
I'll be 37 weeks on January 26th, my doctor said that's the new goal as far as my due date goes, to give her as much time possible to develop while keeping an eye on my blood pressure.
Today was my first day home on bed rest.  I'm blessed to have a loving, supportive family, friends and coworkers.  Everything looks good with Ryan, I have an ultrasound Monday afternoon.  My husband is taking great care of me, and I'm enjoying these last few weeks of relaxation before Ryan arrives and my world is turned upside down!

New Years Eve

This post is a little late, but here's how Clint and I spent our New Year's Eve.....

I had a doctor's appointment the Tuesday before and was put on modified bed rest due to high blood pressure.  Meaning, anytime I could be in bed, I needed to be; but I wasn't on restricted bed rest yet.  Our friends who live right across the street from us invited us to hang out.... they are expecting a baby in July, so we planned a low key New Years Eve.
I made this yummy snack:
I have no idea what they're called, but they are SO easy to make and very yummy.
You'll need pretzels and Hersey's Hugs
Heat your oven to 300 degrees
Lay out pretzels on a cookie sheet, top with a Hug
Bake about 90 seconds
Let them sit for about 30 seconds, to get nice and melty, then top with a pretzel
Cool in refrigerator - Enjoy!!

Since both me and my friend are pregnant, we had non-alcoholic frozen margaritas to celebrate New Years Eve
Yummmmmmm

My Recent View

This is going to be a short pregnancy update.... I'm 33 weeks today! I really am feeling great! I went to my appointment this past Tuesday, and my blood pressure is starting to go up. :(
I was so shocked, I feel fine! I'm so blessed, the office that I work at is closed this week, so I've been home taking it easy.  I have an ultrasound Monday afternoon, and my next doctor appointment Tuesday morning.  I'll have more information then.
For now, here was my view today while relaxing in bed.  (Ignore the Pizza Hut commercial in the background.. focus on Stevie's leg up in the air and Sam sitting at the end of the bed) They're keeping me company!! :)
Love to all!

Christmas 2011 Recap

It's hard for me to believe that December is almost over! Clint and I had a wonderful Christmas.  I actually don't have a lot of pictures, because a new camera was on our Christmas list :)

Most of my list this year consisted of comfortable clothes for after Miss Ryan gets here, PJ pants, black slouchy boots to wear with tights, and a comfie, warm house rob.  I feel like a mom already! ;)
This Christmas was definitely different, all our "events" were spaced out nicely, so there were several days of rest and relaxation. I'm sure this was the last relaxing Christmas that we'll have from here on out once we welcome our little Ryan girl!

Here are a few pictures: **We did spend time with Clint's family, but I don't have any good pictures!! :(

32 weeks, relaxing after opening all of my goodies!

Clint, me and my parents.... my new boots!!

Headed to my Aunt's house - the last year it will be just the two of us.  FYI, I was running really late this day, because I couldn't find an outfit that I liked... my belly is definitely starting to get bigger!

30 weeks! I can't believe it!

I'm at week 30 of my pregnancy today... and it's hard to believe that my little girl will be here soon!!
As of right now, I'm scheduled to have a c-section on February 9th - so that means that tomorrow there are officially only 2 months until Ryan is here!

I start going to the doctor every two weeks - my next appointment is Monday and my last ultrasound is Monday also. I can't wait to see her sweet face... and find out what she is using to poke me in my left side.  Clint and I really think there are two feet on my left side, we can feel them pretty well. I guess it could be two elbows or two knees though.

I'll get an offical 30 weeks picture posted tomorrow. I feel huge, but everyone keeps telling me how I'm "so tiny" We'll see how long those comments last!! :)

Bow Holder

I was crafty this weekend! I made miss Ryan a cute little bow holder!
It was really easy - I bought the letter and ribbon at Hobby Lobby.
I painted the letter... it took about 3 or 4 coats of paint and then I cut 3 foot strips of ribbon to attach to the letter.
I hot-glued the ribbon to the back of the letter, and discovered that the ends of the ribbon at the bottom wouldn't lie flat against the wall... so I hot-glued two pennies to the ends of each ribbon... it worked perfectly!
Now, I just need some more bows!! :)
I stole this idea from Pinterest! Super easy!!!
Enjoy Thanksgiving this week... I'm looking forward to time with family and yummy food! No diet this year!!!!
My next Dr. appointment is one week from today, I'll be 28 weeks!

Pony

My mom loves horses.... she has always loved horses! She has 3 full grown horses living at her home, she and my dad live on about 4 acres of land and enjoy raising a variety of different animals. Mom's heart is sold out to horses though.

I like horses... I don't have the love for them that my mom does though. She swears that the horse obsession skips a generation.  So, Ryan will probably have the "horse-lover gene".

Not only does Mom love having horses to ride, she really loves teaching kids about horses. So, once she found out I was pregnant, she started shopping around for the perfect pony.  She found him!! Clint and I met him Saturday night... he is beautiful and has a sweet deposition.

Meeting  the pony for the first time. He is amazing! It's hard to tell in this picture, but Ryan was wiggled around funny and my stomach looked so weird! For the first time, my belly was crooked. :)

P.S. The pony doesn't have a name yet. Right now, he's just "the pony".

3 months

Wow... yesterday starts the official countdown. Three months till Ryan is here! I'm curious to see if time will drag or fly by.  I hoping with all the holidays coming up that it doesn't drag by at a tiring rate.

Clint touched up paint in her room last weekend, I'm painting a few things - a wall hanging and a step stool. We haven't really started shopping for a dresser yet... that's still on the to-do list.

I'm 26 weeks today and feeling good. Every once in a while, I'll get a good jab in the ribs - not sure if it's a foot, elbow or arm... but some pointy body part. I passed my glucose test - yay!! And, I'm looking forward to eating lots of yummy food at Thanksgiving!

Crib and baby bedding

Last weekend, Clint put together Ryan's crib. I love it!

We decided to go ahead and put the bedding on it too, just to complete the picture. My mom bought the bedding set for us from Babies R Us... both Clint and I love it very much! It looks a little pink in this picture... it's actually purple.
We decided not to paint the walls. I like the color that they are, and I think they look really good with the color of the crib and the bedding. We have some touch up areas to work on and I'm trying to decide if I want to add a border or something else to snaz it up.
There are really only a few baby items in her room, but I just love walking in there and knowing that in a few months, I'll have a sweet baby in the nursery!!
Blessed beyond belief,

Sweet Face

I know all I post about is baby, baby, baby. Mostly, I use this blog as a way to update my family on what's going on with me - and right now it's all baby!!

Clint & I had a 3D/4D ultrasound yesterday... it was AMAZING!!! I'm 23 weeks today. Miss Ryan kept me up last night wiggling all around! I think it was 2 a.m. before I actually fell asleep. I'm sure there's only more to come :)

Here she is sucking her thumb
Snuggled up

Here's a yawn

It was such an amazing experience!! We got to take a DVD home, and I'm sure that's all I'll be watching for awhile!

Our baby's name

We actually decided on one name for our baby - boy or girl - back when we first found out we were expecting. Clint and I both really like "traditional boy" names for girls. (Our dog is named Stevie.... and she's a girl).
Her name will be.....
Ryan Elizabeth

Elizabeth is my middle name, and my mom's middle name as well.  We wanted to pair a "girly" middle name with her first name. I think it flows perfectly, and hopefully it will fit her well too!

Side note - before my Grandmother passed away, Clint and I told her that if baby is a girl, we plan to name her Ryan Elizabeth.  My grandmother's response was "Oh... I don't really like that. Everyone will pronounce it wrong... like Ri-an since we live in Texas." My grandmother never ceased to speak her mind - turns out, she didn't like my name when my parents picked it out!! : )

I'm addicted....

I don't know what it is about this place....

I'm craving it SO MUCH!! I eat the #5 - chicken fried steak with double mashed potatoes at least twice a week! Healthy right?? Maybe that's why I've been able to put on 3 POUNDS in one week. I need to slow down a little!
I never really ate at Grandy's before I was pregnant - maybe once or twice a year - now I gotta have it!! :)
I'm 21 weeks as of yesterday and feeling good! I'm finding that baby Moore has a pretty regular wake-movement cycle each day. Typically she moves between 9:30-10:30 a.m., around noon - 1p.m. and then MAJOR movement from 9:15 - 10 p.m. each night. Nighttime is definitely the time she is doing major belly-surfing! ;) I can see my belly move and Monday night, Clint felt our baby for the first time. I wish I could have captured the grin on his face... he was beaming, and I of course, was crying!
Loving this special time!

Miracles

I'm borrowing this quote and changing it around a bit... I don't have the orignial author or citation. My Grandmother emailed it to me this morning - it's precious:

Instead of wishing away 9 months of pregnancy, I will cherish every moment and realize that the wonderment growing inside me is the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

I thank God everyday for my miracle!!

20 Weeks - Halfway There!

I'm officially 20 weeks today!!

I feel like my belly is starting to stick out now! :)
I'm feeling great, loving feeling baby move, and enjoying the 2nd trimester.
I can't believe September has flown by so quickly! I'm looking forward to October and sweater weather.
I'm surprised that I haven't had many cravings - I enjoy apples and apple juice, but that's about it... nothing that I feel like I "have" to have right now.

We're having a.....

Baby GIRL!!!
The sonogram technician said our baby looks like a little girl.
Unfortunately we don't have any "girl shot" pictures... it was hard to tell exactly what we were looking at. We are excited either way, and happy that baby looks happy and healthy!!!

Gender

Yes... Clint & I know the gender of our baby.
I'm posting pictures tonight or tomorrow.
Hang in there... the wait isn't much longer. :)
