Parasail

Back from vacation! What a wonderful trip!
My dad is an amazing photographer, so I'll wait and post his pictures of most of the trip.
Clint & I went parasailing on the last day of the trip and we had a blast!!
Here we are right before we took off!

Clint was already enjoying himself - I think one of the ropes made a creaking sound and freaked me out at this point :o)

On our way up!!

Way way up!!

Headed in to the water!

Dunk time!

Clint had so much fun!

Get in the closet!

Last night North Texas had some ROUGH weather!
There was a huge, nasty looking line of thunderstorms blowing through our area.
Clint and I were watching the weather - we didn't really have much of a choice, all of the local tv stations forced us to! The weather got pretty severe, there was a tornado warning and severe thunderstorm warning. Clint and I decided it was time to move to a safe place in the house. Clint decided he needed to put a few things in the bathroom to protect them:
Seriously - how funny is that?!? Stevie and his guitars got packed into the bathroom!!
The storms passed, and we survived :]

Dinner success and mummy chicken

I may or may not have a sign very similiar to this one in my kitchen:
Anyhow, I'm working on my cooking skills. I was blessed to receive so many wonderful kitchen gadgets, bakeware, and corningware for my wedding last year that I have no clue how to use that I rarely ever use. My poor hubs has had cookies for dinner twice this past week because I got home from work late and didn't feel like cooking.
I've decided this must change. The way I see it is, as a Godly woman and wife, I ought to take better care of my family. So, I am working hard at scouring through recipes and increasing my cooking abilities.

Dinner tonight? SUCCESS!!!
Cavatini
2 26.5 oz cans of your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 pkg egg noodles cooked
1 lb ground beef
1 pkg sliced pepperoni
1 lb sausage
1 1/2 lb shredded mozzarella cheese

Cook ground meat with sausagee until brown. Slice pepperoni slices in half and add to meat mixture along with sauce.  Simmer 30 minutes. Grease large casserole dish - layer in dish as follows:
meat mixture, noodles, cheese - repeat
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

Oh my goodness! It was SO yummy! Hubs ate it up! And... it was easy!!
Funny part of the story - a few days ago, hubs had grilled chicken legs and there were a few left over. He put them on a plate and put them in the oven - he said to keep Stevie from getting them. ?? Hmm why not put them in the fridge - this is beyond me. I never leave anything in the oven, so I turned it on to pre-heat for my lovely dinner. (Still not looking inside). The oven beeps to let me know it's pre-heated, and I open up the door to put in the yummy dinner I made. What do I find? Mummified chicken legs - BLECH!! Gross hubs!!

Dinner turned out great though, and I'm feeling more confident in my ability to cook. What are some of your favorite recipes?

Thankful Thursday

Linking up with Jamie for Thankful Thursday today!

1. My husband
For a long time, as I was growing up, I can remember praying for the man I would marry one day. My parents, and my grandparents began praying for the man I would marry when I was young. I always prayed for a healthy husband who loved the Lord with his whole heart. Clint is such a leader in our church. He plays in the church band, and is at the church everytime the doors are open. Clint - I pray that you never lose you love and passion for our God.

2. Family
I have a wonderful, supportive family. too many members to list! They are wonderful, and I love each and every one!

3. Stevie

I swear she is the best dog EVER!!! Clint has her so well trained!! She knows so many different tricks, but more than that, she listens so well! Love my big Stevie girl!

4. Ok not as deep as the others, but I am thankful for relaxing weekends!
This past Saturday, I did absolutely nothing! And, I loved every minute of it. I don't think I even changed out of my pjs all day. I am a child counselor intern/play therapist and currently see 18 clients a week - so I enjoy my down time when I can catch some!!

Link up with Jamie and tell us what you're thankful for!

I am SO ready to be HERE:

Ft. Walton Beach Florida at The Breakers with my mom, dad, and wonderful husband!
We'll be flying on Friday the 27th and returning Tuesday the 31st. I can't wait!! I'm planning on hitting up Old Navy Saturday. I heard through the Grapevine (i.e. FB My Frugal Adventures
friend - if you haven't seen her website, check it out NOW!) that flip flops are on sale Saturday for $1!!! I am SO there!! Plus, I need to search for a great swim suit that I can feel cute in, but comfortable wearing in front of my dad. Any suggestions?
One more appointment tonight at 6 p.m. and I survived my Wednesday!

What's your favorite.......

SCARY MOVIE??

So, my husband LOVES scary movies!!
On Valentines Day one year, we HAD to go see Friday the 13th - in the theater ON Friday the 13th.
(I made him take me to Saltgrass for dinner for MY part of Valentines Day)

Then, when Nightmare on Elm Street came out, we HAD to go see that one in the theater on opening day as well.

Seriously... the scarier the better for the hubs. I manage to sit through most of the movies.
So... Happy Friday the 13th!!
Tonight, we'll be ordering pizza and finding a scary movie to watch on TV. (p.s. this was MY idea - it's why I'm the best wife EVER! - at least for my hubs!)

Happy Birthday!!

Yesterday was a special day! My sweet husband turned 34!!
Saturday, our good friends Lance & Shelby threw a combined birthday party for Shelby & Clint. There were burgers, hot dogs, beer, and washers.
Unfortunately, I have horrible Texas allergies, so I ended up at home, dosed with Benadryl and in bed by 3 p.m. Clint celebrated his birthday without me.
Friday night, my parents cooked SO MUCH FOOD!! Clint got several great birthday presents from my mom and dad. They are so sweet and they just love him to pieces!!
Sunday after church we visited with Clint's side of the family for Mother's day and his birthday.

Happy Birthday babe!! I love you up past the sky!!!
